Hand-painted stained glass and mixed media art
Year Founded: 2020
My work is inspired by traditional printmaking, architecture, folk art, miniatures, and of course the beautiful Scottish coastal landscape where I live and have my studio. Here, the light is constantly changing as it reflects off the sea, and the winter trees silhouetted against the sky with the evening sun piercing through look to me very like a piece of stained glass art.
I work in quite an organic (some would say disorganised) way, in that I often change my mind about a design as I go along, so the finished piece is often quite different from my original design. Sometimes the glass dictates the project, at other times the project dictates the glass.
Each piece is unique as I get bored repeating items and want to move onto something new, so if you order something, you can be sure that no-one else will have exactly the same item.
I work on a small scale which suits me best, and love to experiment with different ideas, styles and techniques. New work is added as I create it – (I am quite a slow worker, and also a perfectionist, which means some pieces take me a long time to make!) so it is worth checking back from time to time to see what’s new.
